As we were leaving for our evening walk on Monday, this dog was standing on the front porch.  She must have been dropped off.   Now she needs to gain some weight!

Wilma

I shot this photo of her in April.  Sadly, Grandfather Mountain announced today that they put this eagle to sleep.  "Wilma wasn't able to fly because of her injury," said Animal Habitat Manager Christie Tipton. "She's in a better place now where she'll always be able to fly."

Balloon Glow

I shot this one across a nearly darkened field, lit only by the glow of distant street lights. You can see just how much light the one balloon puts out in a matter of seconds (1.3).  You can barely see the outline of the one which isn't firing his burners.
