Glade Creek Grist Mill

Another shot of the mill in West Virginia.  I first heard of this spot through my parents a few years back.  They travel to this place 2 or 3 times a year.  After seeing some photos my dad had taken, I knew I had to see this location for myself.  Definitely worth the 5 hour drive from Knoxville through the night to the hotel.  I got about 4 hours of sleep and woke up at 5:30 a.m. to be at this location before sunrise.  I was surprised that I had beat all of the other photographers there, but they were close behind.  I started shooting from the creek bed and slowly made my way up around the mill and ended up shooting from this spot.  I shot lots of photos of this location from various spots so if anyone is interested  in seeing more, they will be uploaded to my SmugMug account momentarily. http://nathanmaysphotography.smugmug.com/Landscapes/Mills/Babcock-Park/14221404_QwAwY#1050583364_jSDrH

Wide Falls

Wide Falls, originally uploaded by NAMays.

A really wide shot of the falls in West Virginia. What a beautiful setting!

Images on this page not looking quite right?

I have been using Firefox as my internet browser exclusivley for years now and had never wondered or even thought about looking at my images using any other browser. Recently I had made one of my photos my background on my PC and wondered why the colors were off.  There was very little red, if any, in the photos!  I dismissed it as a fluke since the image looked just fine in every other program I viewed it in.  Then, while exchanging photos with a friend via Windows Messenger, we both noticed the colors were off while viewing it in the program .  But when I would open the photo in Picasa, it looked just fine.  I tried Paint and it was off.  Google browser?  Same thing.  Internet Explorer?  Just as bad.  I did a little research today and I think I have narrowed it down to the photo editing program I use.  When I export my images from the program, I have to select the type of file I want it to become and the type of color gamut I want to "develop" it in.  I have been using a setting since July that apparently no other browser can "see", and I'm only now discovering it!  If you use Firefox, you haven't missed a thing.  But if you are using any other browser, view the photos on this page (and my Flickr) and see the difference!  From now on my images should look the same on any browser.  I just hope I haven't scared anyone away with the "off" images I have been posting....

Hotel Collection

Hotel Collection, originally uploaded by NAMays.

What an incredible sight this was! If you ever get a chance to take the Eiffel Tower tour, do it! The best time to go is just before sunset. Be sure to start going up at least 30 minutes before the sun sets.
